Terms of Engagement
We offer an initial fixed fee consultation at a reduced rate for new clients. We can have a telephone consultation but this will be limited to 10 minutes to establish an understanding of the facts. We will invite you to our offices for a one to one consultation if necessary, where we will provide advice, but will not generally advise you over the telephone, or by email until you are an established client.
Before we accept instructions and funds from you as a prospective client, we must be satisfied as to your client’s identity, address and the source of any funds remitted to us. This is to ensure that we meet the strict formalities laid down by Parliament through the Money Laundering Regulations 2007 and Solicitors Regulation Authority Code of Conduct 2013. We also have to be sure that you have the capacity to instruct us.
Letter of engagement
Prospective clients must also sign and return our formal engagement letter and any contingency or conditional fee agreement to enable us to represent their interests effectively.
Our current Terms of Business can be downloaded here.
